Nová kategorie The Welsh Class

Dovolím si přepostnout celý Markův post.
I would like to announce that Jaro has devised a complete new concept, which if run at any Official EWBS shoot - will be a very interesting and informative addition to our shoots in general. Both Steve and I feel that this is of enormous benefit to the society, and that it will be of great interest to the membership.
I will state, at this stage, that this is not as yet an official EWBS Class, but some of the organisers of the EWBS official shoots have agreed to run it at their competitions.
The idea is to have a competition that is known as the Welsh Class, and it is totally unique in the way it would work.
In short, it constrains the daw weight of the bow and the length of the arrow to certain limits, which then means that all competitors are shooting under the same conditions.
In effect, this means that if all the equipment is of the same performance - then the archer's individual skill will become much more apparent.
To explain more, here is the pdf link to Jaro's idea.

As you will see if you read this document, it will not only be a fun and enjoyable type of competition. But it will also open it up for more individuals to be at a very high and competative standard.
It is also, possibly for the first time , a very unique way of using period authentic equipment to provide invaluable data, which will help increase our research and knowledge into 13th and 14th Century archery equipment.
A detailed specification sheet will be drawn up in due course, where all relevant dimensions will be displayed.
But our idea is to let everyone know what those involved are wanting to do, and then we will let you all know when we will be running the competitions.
Cheers,
Mark.
